How to Adapt Your Awnlux Boxstyle Awning to Our Anchor Plate 2.0
How to Adapt Your Awnlux Box-Style Awning to Our Anchor Plate 2.0
At Peggy Peg, we strive to create versatile and efficient solutions for your camping needs. If you have a black, box-style electric awning (as shown in the images below), we have a simple solution to make it compatible with our Anchor Plate 2.0.
How to Recognise Which Awning Brand You Have
We often hear from customers who are unsure which awning brand is fitted to their caravan. This is very common in Australia, especially with black, box-style electric awnings that do not show any branding once installed.
Here are a few easy ways to identify your awning:
- Thule or Fiamma awnings: These are usually easy to recognise, as the brand name is clearly printed on the awning cassette, lead rail, or arms.
- Awnlux or similar box-style awnings: These are typically plain black with no visible branding on the cassette or awning arms. This style is very common on camper trailers, hybrids, and off-road caravans in Australia.
- OEM or dealer-fitted awnings: Some caravan manufacturers or dealers fit electric awnings without clearly stating the brand in brochures or handover documents, which adds to the confusion.
If your awning matches the images in this article — a black, box-style electric awning without visible branding — the adaptation described below will apply to your setup.
If you are still unsure, feel free to send us a photo of your awning foot or setup — we’re happy to help you identify it and make sure you choose the right Peggy Peg solution.
Adjusting the Anchor Plate for Awnlux Awning Feet
Awnlux awning feet can be adapted to fit our Anchor Plate 2.0 with a minor modification. Focus on the inner side of the anchor plate (refer to the highlighted area in the attached picture). This adjustment can be done using a Dremel, file, or sandpaper. Rest assured, this modification won’t compromise the functionality of the plate.
This is how your Awnlux foot will fit once you do this slight adjustment. The sliders won’t close entirely, but this will not affect the functionality of the plate. If you want, you can slightly cut or grind a slot into the sliders (at the red marks shown in the image below). However, since the awning leg itself blocks the sliders, the minor adjustment described above is usually sufficient.

Good News
We’ve spoken directly with Awnlux, and they confirmed that future awning productions will feature a foot design compatible with our anchor plates — great news!
In the meantime, anyone currently owning one of the many Awnlux awnings can use the simple method above to make it work perfectly with the Anchor Plate 2.0.
